Rice Kheer

Biyyam Paramannam
Ingredients:
Raw rice 1/2 cup
Milk 5 cups
Cardamom pods 2, bruised (optional)
Sugar as required
Method of preparation:
Place the rice, milk and cardamom(if using) in a pot and simmer for 30-40 minutes.
Stir occasionally and check to see for the rice to be soft.
When the grains start to break up, remove from heat.
Add sugar as preferred and stir thoroughly to dissolve.
Serve either warm or cold.
Notes: Add nuts (almonds, pistachios, cashews) and raisins if you have.
