Rice Kheer with Jaggery

Ingredients:

Raw rice 1/2 cup
Milk 5 cups
Cardamom pods 2, bruised
Grated Jaggery 1-2 cups

Method of preparation:

Place the rice, milk and cardamom in a pot and simmer for 30-40 minutes.
Stir occasionally and check to see for the rice to turn soft.
When the grains start to break up, remove from heat.
Add grated jaggery to your preference.
Stir thoroughly to dissolve and serve hot.

Notes:
Add finely chopped nuts (almonds, pistachios, cashews) and raisins if you have.
