Cauliflower with Mustard Seeds

Cauliflower Ava Pettina Kura
Ingredients:
Cauliflower 1/2
Onion 1
Green Chiles 2
Mustard Seeds 1 tbsp
Dried Red Chile 1
Tamarind 1 - 1 1/2 inch sized ball
Turmeric Powder a pinch
Salt to taste
Talimpu:
Urad Dal 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds 1/2 tsp
Mustard Seeds 1/4 tsp
Oil 2 tsps
Method of preparation:
Wash, remove outer leaves and break cauliflower into small florets.
Peel and chop onion.
Remove stems, wash and slice green chiles.
Soak tamarind in water for few minutes and extract the juice.
Grind mustard seeds and red chile into fine powder.
Heat oil in a pan, add all talimpu ingredients in order.
When mustard seeds stop spluttering, add cauliflower, onion, green chiles, turmeric and salt.
Stir fry until the onion is browned a little.
Then add tamarind extract and mustard seeds red chile powder.
Cook covered until the cauliflower is well cooked.
Uncover and make sure there is not much sauce left at bottom.
Serve hot with rice.
Notes: Make sure cauliflower is cooked well.
